Having the opportunity to own and operate a family business is very special. It is an honor. And it’s something we fell goes far beyond us. We have a lot of things happening with Clark + Aldine, so much that it could easily take our focus off of what matters most in life…our family. But we’ve found the ways to run a modern day family business. And we’re sharing them with you on our podcast, The Stay True Podcast.
4 KEYS TO RUNNING A TRUE FAMILY BUSINESS
- First and foremost, our kids are involved in everything. They know every project and feel a part of it…which is important since they frequent the job sites!
- Our team. Our team is like family. Actually they are family. And in order to be a part of the C+A family you have to reflect our values and dive head first into this family of ours. Needless to say our family has grown quick…and the boys are surrounded with lots of love.
- Our entire family plays a role. Chuck and Rose are a HUGE support, always stepping in to hang with the boys, do our laundry, landscaping, clean our house…they basically keep us functioning at home, which allows us to stay functioning for work. Uncle Tom and Aunt Peggy step in with the boys too…especially in the summer. Without all of them we could not build this brand.
- Our clients are family. When we decide to take on a new client, they absolutely must feel like family. We were recently asked who our typical client is…and the answer is, they are family. We have young families, families with teenagers, single adults and empty nester retirees…there is no “typical”, because we aren’t.
