I am overwhelmed with the amount of love that I’ve seen coming from this world we live in and the people out there that are willing to help out. At the same time it is so heartbreaking to see and hear about the amount of children whom suffer from lack of access to food in our own communities! Motherhood is one of the most rewarding journeys I have ever been on. Yet with the reward comes the challenge. There are moments of ups and downs as with anything in life, and although I wouldn’t change this journey for anything in the world there are differently moments that push me to my limits. Bedtime is one of those times. I love the routine of bed time but not every night runs smoothly and sometimes I am just so tired! So to help me get through I’ve created a list of things about bedtime I am going to miss…someday! As I lay down with my boys each night (or every other when it works out with my husband) I’m reminded to enjoy the moment. Because sooner than later I know these moments are going to be gone. Here’s my list for you to enjoy and hopefully help with bedtime at your house

1. Lay with me mama – Yes, actually get into the bed and lay down until he falls asleep. And of course there are many nights I fall asleep there too…never planned. But laying there and listening to his sweet breath makes my heart melt.And as we say in our house, when he’s 21 he won’t want to do this!
2. Is it your night? – Yes, sweet child it’s always my night when you ask! We try hard to rotate bedtime in our house but let’s be honest, that just doesn’t always work out and there will be a time that he doesn’t want it to be my night.
3. Let’s snuggle – I know I’m tired at bed time but snuggles should always be a good idea! Make time for those snuggles.
4. One more book – My eyes hurt to keep open but reading to my dude is something this mama will always do. Just pick a short one for the last one!
5. Can I have some water? – The thought of getting up after laying down can be almost impossible. But remembering that there will come a day that he won’t want my help for anything makes it a little easier!
6. Can I get in the nook – At our house the nook is inside our arms snuggled real close. It’s a special place I always want my boys to be, as does my husband!

I’m really not sure how this year went by so fast. I know I hear people say that all the time. But seriously you guys I feel like it was just yesterday I was enjoying little snuggles from a newborn and now I’m chasing him from one bad decision to the next????

Last week I planned to have Ziggy’s birthday up here to share with everyone and all the rad things that went with it. But with family in town for the party and Halloween, that just didn’t happen on our end. I needed some time to just be a mom and reflect on this past year and all the amazing people in our lives.

So now let’s get down to how rad this party was! To start we decided on a themed party with zig zags as the design staple that carried throughout the party. Yes, Ziggy’s initials are ZAG and we call him Zig for short! Perfect fit. A million thanks to the wonderful Kimberly from Small Moments who made all my design dreams come true!!!

We had Ziggy cupcakes, which I decided to zig zag and add cake toppers. The cake toppers were stickers that we put together with a toothpick between. Kimberly made us four different designs. She helped tie that into the cup stickers as well.

We wanted to the focus to be on Ziggy’s 12 months of fun. So we had 12 month cards made with gold glitter effect (for me of course✨) and found a picture from each of Ziggy’s first 12 months. We were not nearly as good with the month to month photos as with Enzo, guess that’s a second time around problem. But we did have some really amazing shots of this kid over the last 12 months.

Enzo needed to be a huge part of our party celebration as well. To make that happen we came up with an ‘Enzo says’ wall. I collected 12 quotes Enzo has said about Ziggy, and let me tell you, asking questions and getting responses from a 3 1/2 year old about his brother is not easy???? To make the wall more personal to Enzo since he clearly can’t read yet we printed images of the two of them together from the last 12 months. This was such a fun way to see how they have both changed in a year. Plus Enzo felt special too????!

I also worked with the amazing team over at Gugu Guru. Thank you so much Monica and Olivia for helping me find custom products for my black/white/gold/zig-zag party and a baby registry. Gugu Guru isn’t just for new babies either…they can help party plan as well! ???? Here is where we found Ziggy’s cake topper, Bunting from Kiss Me Kate Studio. Yep this was a perfect match and I am totally reusing this bad boy!

We also found Ziggy’s adorable one year old shirt from Lil Thredz Clothing and his baking shirt from Mitz because you know you can never have too many clothing options, especially when you love food like Zig does????

One more thing I can’t forget to tell you is you can totally build the universal registry with Gugu Guru. Talk about time saving and life altering. Seriously you guys, we were kinda freakin’ out about what to get Ziggy for his first birthday, because you know we might have gone a little overboard with Enzo’s gifts and so Ziggy has like every toy out there…I know serious problems over here. Anyways the amazing crew as Gugu Guru helped me add first birthday gifts on my registry to make gift buying easier for other people.

So let me share with you two of my favorite gifts that I would never have thought of but totally love. The EZPZ, all in one silicone placemat I LOVE LOVE LOVE this thing! It’s all kinds of free – BPA, BPS, PVC and Phthalate free. Plus, it’s dishwasher safe and promotes safe feeding which is all kinds of fun. My little foodie loves it.

So naturally when you’ve got a little one who loves food and is always wanting to feed himself you take lots of baths, or face wipe downs that pretty much turn into body wipe downs…you get the idea. Well we got this rad package from babyganics with literally everything I could need for a little foodie. I love that the soap is fragrant free and the bubbles are amazing. Plus we got a hand sanitizer for when we are out and about and soap just isn’t an option!

You guys ZIggy’s birthday was a total blast and we are so glad we found all these amazing small businesses to work with. Again, a huge thanks to both Kimberly from Small Moments and Olivia and Monica from Gugu Guru because you all helped make this party extra special to remember!

Eeeeekkk! It’s almost Halloween????????????. If you’re anything like me you’ve started to think about what your littles are going to be and how you are going to make this happen?!? Maybe your littles are just like mine and every other day their ideas change for costumes. Or, Halloween has been a topic of conversation for the last month. We’ve got both those things going on here.

We are sure to have Nick Haunted Party with my double turtle power dudes.

The best part of these costumes is after the holiday they will find a home in our pretend play area where I am positive my dudes will use them daily in their pretend play! What’s not to love about that!

And one that links to your phone ???? , sending you alerts when your little’s temperature hits an alert level that you get to set. Talk about AMAZING! No more need to check 1,000 times. This bad boy continuously monitors your littles temperature’s versus just one temperature reading. Added bonus – it tracks when your little eats, drinks or takes medicine!
3. Keep everyone in your circle informed:  When dealing with littles being sick the last thing you need is for everyone to be stressed and worried. Since having my second little dude I have been hunting for the perfect bag. The one that I can keep with me without having to continue to put down or switch arms or even reload and unload because I just get so much sh*t inside of it that I can’t find anything ????. I know I have serious problems. Plus with having two little ones I need both my hands more often than not.

I’ve finally found the answer to my bag hunt: a backpack! It’s been amazing. So I’ve put together a short list of things you should look for when hunting for the perfect bag.

1. Style: I feel like this should go without saying, but you’ve got to feel the style of the purse. For my current situation in life a backpack is just what I need and this style fits me.
2. Color: For an everyday purse you want to go with a neutral color.
3. Size: Know what you’re going to be lugging with you daily – diapers, wipes, sunnies, lipstick, phone – you know, your basics????. And make sure your purse can fit all of these things and a little more.
4. Usage: Practicality…everyone needs a purse that is practical for their season. Right now carrying tote, shoulder, or cross body would just not fit my daily life.
5. Compartments: I’m a huge fan of compartments. Not all over the bag but hidden ones that work just right for keys, phone, lipstick and small toys. The things I need to find right away and then having one larger compartment to house everything else I feel necessary to lug around with me!
