WHAT TO EXPECT FROM US

Well doesn’t this seem fitting for us to write a blog post regarding all the changes you’ve seen going on over the last few weeks, on a brand new blog with a brand new name?!? We’ve also changed things around on our other channels, too!

This is something I can tell you has been in the making for quite some time now. To be 100% honest, like I know any other way, I’ve been absolutely terrified to move from mom wife foodie to Clark + Aldine. But I am so freakin’ excited we did! I feel like this is the best way for you to really get an idea behind what we are thinking and why we made this change.
First, if you haven’t had a chance to read our story you need to do that now. On our about us page we give you the full run down of where the name Clark + Aldine comes from since clearly I am not Aldine and Michael for sure isn’t Clark! Once you’ve got that part clear we can talk about what you can expect on the blog. I will continue to be the main voice throughout most posts, but yes you will be lucky enough to hear from Michael now too! I am pretty sure you will be able to tell who’s voice is who as soon as you start reading…and the signature at the end could give it away too;)!
M: Hello hello! I’m excited to become an “official” face of the blog moving forward. As Danielle mentioned I will be contributing to the blog frequently starting with this post, but this isn’t really my start. Prior to launching mom wife foodie to the world I have held the position of web developer, photographer, edited and proof reader. So needless to say I know every dirty secret there ever has been. There really aren’t any at all…we’re not cool enough to have them.
Clark + Aldine will be broken down into 3 main areas – Home, Travel and The Everyday. Our content will feature lots and lots of home renovations, diys, how to’s and what to’s related to home, all of our family travels and inspirations we gather from them and a little bit of our everyday life, such as food, style, parenting and a little business. For the moment we are going to post one day a week on the blog. And to make life easier we are going to post every Tuesday for the next couple of months. Once we get enough data from what you all like we may adjust a bit, but for now that is the plan. Please feel free to reach out to either of us and let us know what you like, don’t like or want more of and we’ll be sure to put it in the mix.
M: As far as content I will be heavily involved in, you can expect large doses under our Home section (and no, not the traditional website “Home” page…Home as in our home). When I was 14 I started working part time as a laborer on a construction site and quickly fell in love with the trade. By the end of my sophomore year in high school I was working more than I was going to school, and by my senior year I was barely in school at all. At the end of my professional construction tenure I was running a crew for a custom home builder in my home town of St. Louis, and the passion for creating spaces never left. We have BIG plans this year to prepare us for a life change in 2019…beginning with laying the foundation right here on Clark + Aldine. If you ever have any questions regarding projects, reach out to me. I’d love to help!
As many of you know we’ve also re-branded our podcast…and Season 2 has launched! You can check it out here.
M: The podcast has been a fun adventure for us. It gives us some time to just sit and talk with no kids, but often distractions from phone notifications, Siri and our dog, Jade. It’s a place where we can share our experiences, our advice, our stories and our love for everything we do. We’re no experts in any category but we’re very real, raw and honest…which is often hard to come by these days.
If you haven’t had a chance to check out our Pinterest page you need to. We’ve been working hard to create an inspirational and informative space for all of our readers. Right now we are featuring all of the inspiration for our 2018 project list:
Bathrooms
Kitchen
Office
Mudroom
Living Space

We’ve also got holiday boards set up for decorating, food and entertaining ideas. Oh, I can’t forget travel! To make it better we’ve broken down destinations by the time of year: Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall. You know we’ve got food and cocktails too. Plus style for both men, women and kids (mostly little dudes). So pretty much anything you’ll need.
We’ve been working on changing our Facebook page, around too! Since we know this is a hard to see place because of the algorithm we will be working hard to post multiple times a day. We’d love to know what you’d like to see more of there. Maybe shopping ideas for home, style or travel? Of course we will continue to share our newest posts there and possibly some behind the scenes for our upcoming renovations!
The major over all change will be here on the blog and seeing more of Michael. As always thank you for all the support and love!
M: Yes, thank you! It’s been a great 3 years so far and can only get better from this point forward. Without all of you we would not be here doing what we do – you truly keep us fueled and energized. As Danielle mentioned, we have a ton of changes, a new brand and a ton of new content. If you feel anyone in your circle would benefit from what we have going on, please share with them and invite them along for the ride. We’d love to get to know more of you out there.
Till next time…
Much Love-
Danielle & Michael
